I uh to high school students at Somerville High.

Uh he was my sophomore geometry teacher, and he gave me the greatest lesson that a teacher could ever give someone.

He failed me.

Uh he gave me an F in geometry, sophomore year of high school, and would not let me pass and told me that you can do better and you expect more.

And that was a great life lesson for me to have someone say, like you should hold yourself to a higher standard.

He could have just given me a D and moved on, and I would have never learned a lesson.

But that was a very valuable lesson that I learned that I attribute to him.

Somerville City Council Regular Meeting - April 23, 2026
