The South San Francisco City Council held a regular meeting on September 25, 2024, at 6:30 PM in the Council Chambers. The meeting included multiple proclamations, a presentation from the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC), public comments on a range of topics (including the future of the Municipal Services Building (MSB), allegations against the Chamber of Commerce, and support for the Renaissance Entrepreneurship Center), and a consent calendar with 18 items. Key actions included approval of bond financing for the Grand and Linden Family Apartments, a five-year parking enforcement contract with LAZ Parking, and a broadband fiber-optic network project. The council also discussed and rejected extending an MTC seat to a termed-out councilmember from Millbrae.

Good evening, uh Mayor, Vice Mayor, and Council. Uh Ernesto Lucero, economic development manager. Uh, we'd like to invite the public to our third event in the What's Happening East of 101, a biotech speaker series, and that's taking place this Friday, uh, September 27th, and this is featuring Amgen. Uh, the city in partnership with Biocom held the first two events in July with Estellas and in August with Allegene. And this Friday's event, like I mentioned, is with uh with Amgen. Uh, to sign up, please uh see the QR code on the screen or go to SSF.net, and this will take place in the council chambers from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thank you. Good evening, Mayor. Vice Mayor, Council members Marie Patea, executive assistant to our city manager. I have four announcements this evening. The first is Centennial Way Park South. Please join us to celebrate the grand opening of the new Centennial Way Park South this Sunday, September 29th at 10 a.m. The location is between Spruce and Tamfran along Centennial Way Trail. We encourage attendees to take public transportation, walk, bike, skate to the event. There is limited parking along Spruce Avenue, and come prepare to test out the new skate area, bike punk track, playgrounds, fitness equipment, outdoor classroom, pollinator garden, and more. Second, uh Dundee Park. We're gonna have our first community meeting, open house, to discuss the improvements to the Dundee Park will be on Monday, October 7th, from 6:30 to 8 at the Sara Vista Multi-Use Room, which is at 257 Longford Drive. The meeting will be hosted and run by our director of Capital Projects, Jake Gilchrist, and Parks Manager Josh Richardson. Meeting flyers were mailed to neighbors, shared with our Winston Manor Community Association, and with a group of neighborhood parents to help get the word out.
