Tonight I am pleased to announce our 2024 annual crime statistics.

Our police dispatch 911 Center handled 133,728 phone calls for 2024.

Of those 22,380 were 911 emergency calls.

And all these calls resulted in 55,803 incidents, as well as 6,158 formal investigations.

We report all of our data to the California incident-based reporting system as well as the national incident-based reporting system.

They clump crimes into three categories.

The first being crimes against property, such as uh robberies, uh burglaries, theft, stolen vehicles.

Uh for 2024, we are down 31%.

For crimes against persons, such as homicides, kidnappings, sexual assaults, aggravated assault, we are down 11%.

And crimes against society, which is your drug possession, uh drug dealing and weapons possession, we are down one percent.

So that's remained fairly consistent for the last few years.

And overall violent crime, which excludes family violence is down 26%.

Before I get into the actual data, um, obviously, as a police department, our primary role is public safety and policing.

However, we cannot do that without the partnerships and collaboration with our community, with our business owners, with our city staff as well as council.

So without all of your support, um, we wouldn't be able to be as successful as we are.

This is uh compared over a three-year period from 2022 through 2024.

We are down 19%.

Uh our police department recovered 108 vehicles and made 40 arrests related to stolen vehicles.
