Lord Jesus, I want to thank you for this gathering this evening and for the opportunity to call upon your name. Lord, thank you for your love for all people who are created in your image and likeness. And I want to thank you for our nation, our state, and for our city. We are blessed to live in a free nation, and we do not take that for granted. I want to pray your blessing over this meeting. I pray you anoint these leaders with wisdom and insight and how to s how they seek to lead us. I pray that they submit to your leadership and direction, valuing that which you value and loving that which you love. I pray the people of Spokane Valley love one another deeply and seek the good of all, not just themselves. As your word says, let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind, let each esteem others as better than themselves. Let each of you not look out not only for your own interests, but also the interests of others. I pray your blessing over our council members and their families. I pray your blessing over our city, and that you honor us as we honor you and correct us if we stray. Lord Jesus, I thank you for your deep love you have for all that are here and that dwell in this city, and that you know every single one and the desire and you desire to have a personal relationship with them. Lord, guide this meeting in your likeness. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen. You're joining me for the pledge of allegiance. I pledge allegiance. And to the Republic for which it stands.
