The Spokane Valley City Council held a regular meeting on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at 6:00 PM at City Hall (10210 E Sprague Ave). The meeting included a special recognition, a proclamation, public comments, two action items (surplus property declaration and a city safety grant application), and three administrative reports (homeless program update, public art placement, and budget 101 discussion). The meeting adjourned following council, mayor, and city manager comments.
Father, we are grateful for the beautiful community you've given us to live in. And we're grateful for those that are here to bring leadership to our community. We ask for your wisdom and guidance tonight. And for unity that we would live in peace and harmony. We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America. And to the Republic, which is all. Okay, uh, Deputy Mayor Hattenberg. And you could uh help me with roll call here, please. Yep, certainly. May I get you to pull your mic just a tiny bit closer to you? Wonderful. Thank you. Deputy Mayor Hattenberg. Here. Councilmember Haley. Here. Councilmember Yeager. Here. Councilmember Kelly. Present. Councilmember Wick. Here. And I'll do Councilmember Merkel and Mayor Patton together here. Move to expect. Okay, thank you. Do we have oh I don't see Mayor Patton? Raise your hand. Okay, I'll have a talk. Mayor Padden, is that you on? Yeah. Okay. All right. Thank you. Okay. Next is there move to approve the agenda. Move to approve the agenda. Second. Okay. All in favor? I agenda is approved. Now, one of my favorite things to do. Uh, switching gears a moment to something we always look forward to, our UROC community recognition program. This is our chance as a council to shiny spotlight on the incredible individuals and organizations who make up Spokane Valley or make it such a special place. We get to say thank you to those making a real difference in our community. First, a big thank you goes out to Decade Awards who generously sponsor the beautiful UROC Awards every month. We truly appreciate their ongoing support. It is my pleasure to introduce our February UROC recipient, Mr. Lance Beck.
