9:34

Thanks, Council President.

9:36

I was super thrilled to see this on the agenda, so I couldn't pass on the opportunity to not comment on it.

9:42

And so I wanted to first say um thank you to our incredible library staff and Dr.

9:48

Hartman.

9:49

Um also um our climate team too for making this happen.

Unassigned speaker

9:53

We originally thought that we wouldn't be able to do this, but you know, they found a way and very grateful to the Minnesota Department of Commerce for this funding.

Speaker 4

10:02

I also wanted to name that on the consent agenda that we just approved there was number 15, which is also related to the Hayden Heights Library.

10:12

And I'm really um just I just really wanted to say thanks to the library team for their investment and partnership and making sure that we have an adult change uh an adult size uh changing station at Hayden Heights Library.

10:26

I have also contributed my own year round star dollars to make this possible, and one of the reasons why this was a very important project is because I think about the conversation I had with a mom a few maybe like some time last year, and she shared about how whenever she goes to public facilities, you know, she brings along her son who had a choking incident, and to this day he you know his entire body is still still paralyzed, and whenever they go out, she has to change him, and oftentimes there aren't any adult uh any changing stations.

10:58

So she'd have to put her child on the ground and then change him that way.

11:02

And I'm just like, this is no way at all for any parent or child to have to experience, and we could definitely do better.

11:09

And so I uh took up the opportunity to have a conversation with our staff about whether we can make this possible.

11:14

And so, you know, it really started from there, and that was a really moving conversation that um really was the the seed to all of this.
