This public hearings relative to authorizing revocation of a special use permit granted to 634 South Getting Street.

The property has been the site of unauthorized car sale.

The business operating at the property has been cited numerous times by DMV for selling unroadly cars and for engaging in fraudulent business practices, which violate the terms and conditions of the special use permit.

So what we're gonna do housekeeping is everybody that wants to speak, we'll get two minutes to speak, and then from there we'll make a determination at our next meeting.

Um I'm at 620 get this for like 15 years.

Um the DMV, what they say about the DMV, I don't sell car there.

I work for um a company out of the state.

So the company got a contract with the company that store the car, the detail and oil change for the company.

I got a contract right there that I have.

I don't sell any car over there.

Um when the DMV came over there, I explained that to him and tell him that I used to have a dealership over there, but um if somebody complained about a problem, it cost me 2500.

So I say I cannot afford that.

So we just cancel the dealerships at work, as I'm saying, I work for D'Zone Wheel and Auto Plug.

So we have a contract with them where we just straight like details, tire service and stuff like that.

So um I don't know where this coming from.

Um I'm selling cars over there.

We used to sell cars over there since um 2021.

But after that, we don't sell any cars over there from that.

If I sell a car over there, probably buy a car off a Facebook market.

If I buy a cover Facebook market, um, I don't think that's I'm doing anything on legal to sell a car, buy a cover Facebook market and sell it as it is.

If it's something that when a guy said I can't do, that's okay.

Or if it's something with a property where I can't do better with, or something where when the guy said, Ian I'm doing wrong, I don't mind adjusting.

Because I'm I'm not trying to get my business shut down.

I've been here for like 15 years.

I'm no that's your decision to meet that's not mine.

But um I don't think it's fair if I if to say I sell a car some sell a car as it is and um off a Facebook market and then you said you can't sell you can't sell a car illegal, right?

I think I can't do that.

And I got the paperwork here to um to show that I got a contract from these people where I store the car at.

And I got a next problem again.

Um there was complaining about the well, they never bring that up.

There was complaining about a bay or block up the bay.

And um, I blocked the bay up because there's a lot of drugs drug trafficking going on over there.

So I blocked the bay off and put a like a convenience store in there.

There's nothing for the public, it's just like for the customer come there for like I'll change and tire change.

If y'all take this business or whatever the case may be, I have to go find other mechanic place to feed myself and my little daughter and my household at the end of the day.

10 years, somewhere like that.

Good evening, Rob Carpenter with the City of Syracuse Department of Law here from City Hall.

Uh I work closely with Jake Deshaw, uh, the Zodiac administrator in drafting this report.

He couldn't be here today, so I I'm here on his behalf.

Um the Office of Zodiac Administration uh largely rests on the contents of his reports uh of its report as outlined in that report.

There have been numerous uh DMV investigations uh at this property over the past few years.

There continue to be ongoing investigations by the DMV into further sales uh currently.

Um those DMV investigations have found that um uh uh unroadworthy cars have uh been sold at the at the premise.

Uh this has affected numerous Syracuse residents uh as outlined in the reports.

There have been numerous complaints by Syracuse uh residents, both to the DMV um to the city and to and to county officials about this property.

Uh in addition uh to the to the car sales issues, um and as uh referenced in the report.

Uh one of the car wash bays at the premise has also been converted into a um convenience store, and that was done without pulling proper permits or without obtaining necessary licenses to um open that business.

Uh and for for those reasons um for the reasons listed in our report, um, the Office of Resonary Administration would ask that the council uh revoke the special use permits uh previously issued to this property.

I own Sabatinos next door from him, 1000 South Gaza Street.

Uh usually on different businesses too.

Uh I know this friend, he's a friend of us.

He helped me a lot all the time, fix my cars, my friends, or my employees, all this stuff.

About the store when I shut down almost three months ago, because the renovation, my store, my my sabatinos.

I was to have some stuff like groceries, some stuff like that.

I storage in his garage.

He let me put my stuff there.

Uh-huh.

Without it's not open store, nothing there, just storage.

He's a good guy.

He helps a lot.

I never hear hear any complain about him from my customers and get this anything about it.

That's what I should have said about him.

That would be what I think so.
