You can you decided to stand whatever thank you avoteinu almighty God and God of our fathers we ask you to bless this August assembly of the Syracuse Common Council gathered here today to enact laws for the benefit of the people of Syracuse Bestow upon them the wisdom the knowledge and the understanding to pass and enact laws that will help our community to be a thriving moral and ethical community steeped in compassion yet cognizant of the need for just laws based on the principles that you almighty have set forth in your holy Torah and taught to us by Moses, including the seven laws of Noah, you have decreed for mankind to follow, and that the most foremost Jewish leader in all generations of blessed memory of the Baba Churby Rabash Nirsen stressed and endeavored and worked extremely hard to pass on to the whole world, divine unity, sacred speech, sanctity of life, marital fidelity, honesty, compassion, pursuit of justice, to make this world a better place. And to help us understand that this world is not a jungle, but God's garden, his wonderful garden, and it's our job to cultivate it. Thank you. Now our sages teach that the Almighty joins a good act, a good thought to a good deed. So we all have good thoughts here. So what I'm going to do now is come around with this comment with this charity box, which I gifted to the county council a number of years ago. And I have some money with me. So I'll give you some money. Okay. If you're happy, you don't have to roll any people carry money today. Somebody once said Rabbi doesn't wait for budgetaries to ask for money. Well whatever you'd like. I I believe this is used for you know for homeless anyone who needs a number of years ago my children collected Sadaka for Purim, which is one of the mitzvot the commandments for the holiday of Purim to celebrate. And then they we went to um Positivity Cafe in the central market and they donated the money to uh support the kitties that were living there. It was very sweet. That's very sweet. I'm proud of them.
