The Woodstock City Council met in regular session on October 21, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers. All council members were present. The meeting included floor discussion, approval of the consent calendar, and a look at future agenda items.
Well, good evening, ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to this evening's meeting of the Woodstock City Council. A few brief announcements before we get started. First, that the agenda this evening will be shown on the monitors in the council chambers. There are two opportunities for public comment. First being at the start of the meeting under floor discussion. Members of the public may come forward to the podium in the middle of the room. If they're willing to do so, state your name and address for purpose of the record. Feel free to make comments to the Woodstock City Council on any items not on this evening's agenda. Second opportunity for public comment will be when we take act uh have items for action. There will be an opportunity for the public to provide input on those specific items as well. The City of Woodstock operates under what's called a consent format. Consent format means that our consent uh format means that all items uh will be considered in it for action this evening will be considered in a single motion in a single vote. If the member of the city council wishes to have an item removed for separate consideration and voting, they may request that to be removed and it will be separately considered. Member of the public may wish to have an item separately removed, and if agreed to by a member of the city council, that item too will be removed for separate consideration and voting. Well, the record reflect that all members of the Woodstock City Council are present and in the chambers this evening. That being the case, ladies and gentlemen, the council of the people's business is duly and appropriately before us. The first item on this evening's agenda is floor discussion. And at this time I would invite members of the public to come forward to the podium in the middle of the room. Feel free to make comments to the Woodstock City Council on any items and not on this evening's agenda. Okay. Good evening. My name is Andrew Salantano. And for the uh past 15 years, Mark Endike and myself have been working with high school kids to do projects for the City of Woodstock. Last year was apparently the last time we're going to have that here. You're not going to have the kids making presentations in May like we did last time because we don't have a program. This whole project depends on not only volunteers, but your uh imprint or to keep on going and the school district. We do not have for this year any kids that have signed up for this program, which for the folks that uh are unaware of it. There is an organization called Project Lead the Way that is a national program for students that are in the STEM world, science, technology, engineering, and math. These kids we'd had were engineering students and they worked on a real project for this city, and they had to make a presentation and they had to make a um a uh a write-up. And uh I remember vividly a couple of a couple of years ago, the kids would say, Well, how big has does the report have to be?
