Whereas the motion picture groundhog day was filmed almost entirely in the City of Woodstock in 1992 and released in 1993.

And whereas the City of Woodstock proudly celebrates the filming of the movie that put Woodstock, Illinois on the map, and Bing, where the annual commemoration known as Woodstock Groundhog Days began in 1995 with the inaugural prognostication and breakfast, and Bing.

Whereas Stephen Tobeluski, also known as a needle-nosed Ned, returns again and again and again to meet with fans at the Woodstock Opera House and to officiate the official prognostication on the Woodstock Square on February 2nd.

And whereas this year's celebration will also include the return of the Chile Cook-Off, the welcoming of Woodstock Willie, the groundhog at the old courthouse center, followed by movie trivia, a pub crawl, screening of Groundhog Day at the Alpine Theater, and a drink to world peace.
